Sowing Seeds

Sowing seeds means planting seeds so they can germinate and grow into plants. It includes placing the seed in soil, or another growing medium at the proper depth, spacing and at the proper time. Once the seed is planted in the soil, it must be watered, kept at the required temperature for germination, and have the light required for that specific seed to sprout. When most people refer to sowing seeds, this means they will be planting the seed outdoors in the soil, where the plant will germinate and live until harvest.
